摘要:严歌苓的新作《小姨多鹤》延续了她近年来中国传奇书写的思路。小说塑造了两个伟大的女性―――日本女人“小姨”多鹤和中国女人“母亲”小环的女性形象。小说写出了20世纪中国社会底层百姓家半个世纪以来风风雨雨的血泪史,映照出了伟大的人性光辉,显示出对他人的包容和对生命的信心。这部小说跨越国界和文化等多重阻隔,呈现出丰富的思想内涵。文章拟从小说中的女性生命形态着手,采用具体的文本细读方式,并运用叙事伦理学的一些理论,把小说中的时代背景、历史条件进行研究,来看其小说中彰显出的伦理。

1美与善的讴歌
1.1同情之善在《小姨多鹤》中,多鹤是当年日本人在满洲的垦荒团仓皇溃逃路上留下的孤女,从此多鹤柔弱的身躯开始承载太多的灾难。从土匪枪下逃过一劫的多鹤被按斤卖给了铁路工人张家做了传宗接代的工具,从此也就开始了她曲折又富有传奇色彩的人生。在接下来漫长的几十年里,这个“陌生族类”和她的男人张俭以及张俭的妻子朱小环组成了一个特殊的家庭。张家在国仇家恨的背景下,家庭成员之间的关系因多鹤的加入而变得畸形、暖昧而怪异。
多鹤承受着苦难,她默默的用行动,包容了一切;她用生命去疼爱三个孩子,却不能获得一个合法的身份,而只能充当他们的小姨;在情感上,她深爱着二孩张俭,但始终得不到回应,即使二孩和她短暂的蜜月期,也如春日樱花,转瞬即逝。张家不是她真正的家,整个中国也许都没有她的容身之地,多鹤是孤独的:“她戴着跟她们一样的草帽―――一年的风吹日晒,和她们一模一样的破旧;穿着跟她们一模一样的帆布工作服―――都是丈夫们淘汰的,因此全都又肥又大,但她们永远从她身上看出异样来。”“她错过了她们讲的笑话。她永远融不进她们。”而且,随着“运动”的不断,新的苦难也接踵而至,辱骂、恐吓、欺凌,如影随形,但多鹤用本族人的“血性”,用坚韧的`毅力,默默地承受着种种苦难,她被小环拯救,但同时她也拯救了小环,拯救了张家,多年后,多鹤成了小环最好的陪伴。她在这个简陋的家里,嘈嘈切切、忙忙乎乎,貌似无所事事,却无所不在、默默而固执地以“整洁、较真”等品质影响着这个家,“陆陆续续把代浪村的家搬进了这里”,正是这样,她以独有的坚韧充分证明了她的存在:“弱者”不“弱”。她爱着张俭,不远万里,将他带到日本去治疗身体;爱着张家的每一个人,“多鹤常常给小环写信。她总是讲到她的梦。她梦见自己又在这个家里。她梦见楼下的那条马路,那大下坡。”多鹤在张家处于非妻非妾的尴尬地位,语言的隔膜,种族的差异,以及心灵之间的障壁,都使多鹤倍感孤独与苦闷。“人类的历史,就是部苦难的历史,而且这个历史还将继续下去。我们需要的是面对苦难时那种处变不惊的优雅风度。”1.2宽容之美严歌苓对小环身上具有东方特色的人性化进行了详细的描述,宽容是她的特点。在这个畸形的家庭,小环的地位在外人看来是堂堂正正的妻子,而实际上她却与三个孩子没有任何血缘关系。但无论是二孩摔下楼后她过分的紧张,还是丫头考入滑翔学校后她情绪的激动,乃至为大孩攒去日本的路费,她加班加点缝制衣服的执着,我们都可以看到一个具有中国传统道德的母亲形象。她对日本女人和自己丈夫共同的孩子呕心沥血,视如己出,尽到了母亲的全部职责。而对多鹤的态度,也从最初的仇视,到吵吵嚷嚷过日子,到最后两人仿佛如姐妹般一样互诉心声。严歌苓在接受采访时多次阐说自己的创作并没有什么先验的女性立场,但却在小说中体现了强烈的女性意识。有着女屠夫血性的小环特别讨人喜欢,对谁都亲亲热热,骂人也不减亲热劲。
在张家隐藏多鹤身份的几十年里她的一张利嘴帮了不少忙。粮食短缺时小环则“无中生有”地到市场上打猎,让家人度过了饥饿的难关。
她开的缝纫店成了阿飞们的聚会处,她更是通过女阿飞小唐的关系见到了昼思夜想的张俭。女干部们逼迫多鹤戴上“日本间谍竹内多鹤”的袖章,她却给袖章镶上了荷叶边,笑着说:“日本就流行荷叶边,看不惯凑合看吧,哈。”小环身上最突出的就是她的“凑合哲学”。
“稀里糊涂凑合起人家子,没有面粉用麦夫子凑合,没有红烧肉用红烧茄子凑合,没有洗头粉用火碱凑合。天天叹着“凑合”,笑着“凑合”,怨着“凑合”,日子就混下来了。这种“凑合”其实就是韧性的民间形态,是民间固有的一种生活态度,也就是小环这种对生活的热爱与柔韧的态度改变了多鹤,把多鹤从自杀的边缘拉了回来,“找根好绳子干什么啊,凑合活着吧”。
2生命力的赞歌
2.1柔韧如水多鹤活着一辈子,母亲不是母亲,妻子不是妻子。“小姨多鹤”的称谓暗含了她名分的尴尬,但无妨这个韧劲十足的女人依凭身体次第展开的情人性和妻性。
作为情人的多鹤是渴望爱并一旦付出就全身投入、情欲旺盛的女人,她既得配合张俭的秘密幽会,“心和身子天天私奔”,又得小心地维护小环微妙的自尊。她既能为了张俭的一次疏忽在意两年,也能在张俭入狱后,每晚专心专意地陷入相思。回国后,她又回来把病重的张俭接到日本治疗,终于以正式妻子的身份把绵远润泽的情人性化成浑厚丰盈的妻性。
多鹤无尽地去劳动、干活,默默地受羞辱、折磨,可她无怨无悔地整日只知弯腰鞠躬,低头、擦地板。她靠什么支撑着?凭什么能如此茹苦含辛、忍辱负重?那就是她作为一个人,所具有的一种求生的本能;她作为一个人,所生发出来的宽厚、宽容、宽恕、善良、至爱的本性。这是一种真实的人性,一种超越了一切国家、民族、宗教界限的人性。多鹤凭借着这真挚的人性,终于赢得了张家每一个人的信任和关爱。她也无私地将自己全部的能力和力量,献给了这个家庭,尽竹这个家的每一个人都有对不起她的地方。这就是人性的博大无私!2.2静美如秋朱小环,这个张家的大管家,三个孩了名义上的生母,我认为是作品中塑造得最成功的一个人物形象。她可说是底层社会最可怜的一名家庭妇女,但是她个性开朗、乐观,无忧无虑,为人泼辣、野性,抽烟、磕瓜子、骂人,吵架。她是“会吵架、又吵架吵得这么好的人”,“吵得人家哈哈笑的人”。她对多鹤,作为日本人,作为情敌,是仇视的,可当知道多鹤的悲惨身世,又见其刻苦勤奋的劳动真诚善良的心底,大气的她,毅然化敌为友,化干戈为玉帛,与多鹤成为了相濡以沫的亲姐妹。她勇于承担了抚养、呵护二个孩子的责任,还处处关照多鹤,甚至为她担待罪责,避祸消灾。在她身上,有着中国“农村妇女那种宠辱不惊的处世态度一平常心”,有着“几乎接近原始的美德,是没有受到现代文明侵蚀的美德”。最后,她让多鹤把丈夫接到日本去了,又让多鹤接走了丫头和大儿子,张家只剩下她一人孤守空房,与年迈眼瞎的家狗黑子相依为命。她还对黑子笑笑说,张家的情意“咱心领了”。这口无遮拦,大大咧咧的小环,心地是多么宽广善良啊!它映照出了伟大的人性的光辉。

正是这种理解苦难、懂得如何去爱的女性,唤醒了我们每一位读者心灵深处最原真的本性,她们是作家“精神蜕变”后的产物,她们的博爱与悲悯更多的是建立在感情认同的基础之上的,带有较强的情感色彩,是复杂人性的一种体现,正是因为这样,才使严歌苓笔下的女性散发着自己独特的光辉。
