农历八月，天高气爽，许多的庄稼都已经收获了，中秋节也是人们庆贺丰收的节日。每当中秋之夜，人们一边欣赏玉盘般皎洁的明月，一边吃月饼、水果，家家户户都洋溢着丰收的喜悦。据说这月饼还有一段非凡的来历了：
月饼有着悠久的历史。据史料记载，早在殷、周时期，江浙一带就有一种纪念太师闻仲的边薄心厚的“太师饼”，此乃我国月饼的“始祖”难忘的中秋节。汉代张骞出使西域时，引进芝麻、胡桃，为月饼的制作增添了辅料，这时便出现了以胡桃仁为馅的圆形饼，名曰“胡饼”。唐代，据说有一年中秋之夜，唐玄宗和杨贵妃赏月吃胡饼时，唐玄宗嫌“胡饼”名字不好听，杨贵妃仰望皎洁的明月，心潮澎湃，随口而出“月饼”，从此“月饼”的名称便在民间逐渐流传开。
在中秋节不仅有吃月饼的习惯，还有赏月背诗的习俗。当人们吃过晚饭，大家都集聚在庭院活阳台上，热热闹闹的享受天伦，欣赏着皎洁的明月，随后背诵带月的诗歌，一派人间圣景。李白的“举头望明月，低头思故乡”，张九龄的“海上生明月，天涯共此时。”，苏轼的“明月几时有？把酒问青天。不知天上宫阙，今夕是何年？我欲乘风归去，又恐琼楼玉宇，高处不胜寒。”，杜甫的“满月飞明镜，归心折大刀。”更是千古绝唱。

相传月宫里有一个人叫吴刚，是汉朝西河人，曾跟随仙人修道，到了天界，但他犯错，仙人把他贬谪到月宫，天天都砍伐月宫前的桂树，以示惩处。这棵桂树成长繁茂，有五百多丈高，每次砍下去之后，被砍的地方又会立即合拢。
中秋节吃月饼相传始于元代。当时，中原广大人民不堪忍受元朝统治阶级的残酷统治，纷纷起义抗元。朱元璋联合各路反抗力量筹备起义。但朝庭官兵搜查的十分严密，传递消息十分困难。军师刘伯温便想出一计策，命令属下把藏有“中秋节夜起义”的纸条藏入饼子里面，再派人分头传送到各地起义军中，公告他们在中秋节晚上起义响应。到了起义的那天，各路义军一齐响应。
非常快，徐达就攻下元大都，起义成功了。消息传来，朱元璋开心得连忙传下口谕，在马上到来的中秋节，让全体将士与民同乐，并将当年起兵时以秘密传递信息的“月饼”，作为节令糕点赏赐群臣。此后，“月饼”制作越发精细，品种更多。之后中秋节吃月饼的风俗便在民间流传开来。中秋节还有很多歇后语，比如：中秋节看桂花，花好月圆我家的中秋节有很多人陪我，他们都是我的家人，我家的中秋节买了70块月饼，还买了老鼎峰橄榄油月饼。我爱中秋节，我爱我家的中秋节。

He also ordered the last sun to rise and set according to time.
