4、对参赛选手的要求
【1】参赛对象：高二全体学生
【2】参赛人数：初赛每班三人，多者班级由任课教师评选3人。每个级部先初赛选出7人，参加决赛。
【3】选手自选题目。要求演讲内容积极、健康、向上。
【4】举止大方，表现自然，与观众有目光交流。有适当的肢体语言，有才艺展示。
【5】如有背景音乐，则自带。
【6】自备服装和道具（如有需要）。
四．演讲比赛
1、比赛规则
【1】、比赛以公平公正为原则，以丰富和活跃校园生活、促进交流与沟通为宗旨，分为预赛和决赛二个阶段，预赛在级部内部进行，由各级部自行组织实施，选出5名选手参与决赛。决赛在整个高二级部内部进行。
【2】、大赛分为自我介绍，演讲比赛，才艺展示三个环节。依据评委打分计算出成绩，最后颁发一等奖、二等奖、三等奖和参与奖。

3、比赛具体过程
第一个环节：选手简要作自我介绍，大约每人1分钟，由评委打分（20分）。
第二个环节：演讲总分50分。选手依次上台演讲，大约每人五分钟。
第三个环节：才艺展示总分30分。
第四个环节：演讲结束后，由评委作总评。并依据比赛成绩宣布各参赛选手成绩。
五．具体评分细则 ：（满分100分）

评委明确给出每部分评分（评分为整数），由工作人员进行最后加总，去掉最高分与最低分，取平均分为选手比赛成绩，按成绩排名分别获一、二、三等奖。

各教学院：
为进一步促进我校大学英语教学，营造良好的英语学习氛围，提高学生英语应用水平，并为参加全省大学生英语演讲比赛做准备，经研究，决定举办湖南文理学院第十二届大学生英语演讲比赛。现将有关事项通知如下：
一、演讲主题
本次演讲比赛主题为“I hope I can...”，参赛选手演讲内容要求紧扣主题，题目自拟。
二、参赛对象
比赛设英语专业组和非英语专业组，参赛对象均为一、二年级在校二本学生。
三、比赛程序
比赛分初赛、复赛和决赛三个阶段进行。各阶段均包括3分钟命题演讲和2分钟即兴演讲两个环节。为充分展示参赛选手的英语应用水平，在决赛阶段增加1分钟现场问答环节。
1.初赛
非英语专业组初赛由各学院于4月28日前在班级比赛基础上独立完成，选拔3名选手（一年级1名，二年级2名）组队参加学校复赛。
英语专业组初赛由外国语学院单独组织，选拔3名选手直接参加学校决赛。
2.复赛
各学院非英语专业选手于5月6日参加学校组织的复赛，成绩排名前20名的选手参加决赛。
3.决赛
学校于5月7日晚分英语专业组和非英语专业组进行决赛，评选表彰先进单位和个人。
四、奖励
1.本次比赛设立组织奖、团体奖、个人奖，由学校颁发荣誉证书。其中，组织奖设若干名，根据初赛、复赛和决赛三个阶段的.组织情况、观众人数、竞赛方案与总结等进行综合评定；团体奖根据团队成员复赛成绩评定，设一、二、三等奖各若干名；个人奖由决赛成绩决定，设立一、二、三等奖及优胜奖各若干名。
2.校赛等级奖获奖选手将获得1-2学分创新学分及一定物质奖励，在学校评先评优中给予专项积极分子荣誉称号，并将优先参加“英语演讲”竞赛培训。
3.课程班培训选手在寒暑假培训期间，学校给予一定的生活补助；课程培训考核合格，学校颁发合格证书，免修或认定校选课（含公共艺术类限定选修课）或专业任选课2-4学分，成绩优异者将代表学校参加湖南省20大学生英语演讲比赛。
4.代表学校参加湖南省年大学生英语演讲比赛的选手，将根据获奖情况对培训学期所有课程期末考试成绩给予1.4-2.0系数奖励（90分封顶），同时，免修或认定校选课或专业任选课4学分以上。
5.全校教师均可推荐优秀学生参赛，并于4月11日前将推荐名单交教务处。被推荐学生须参加院级和校级的选拔竞赛。如果被推荐学生在省英语演讲比赛获得等级奖项，学校将依据获奖等级奖励1000-元的“伯乐奖”。
五、工作要求
1.各学院应高度重视本次演讲比赛，主管学生工作的副书记为直接责任人。各学院要广泛宣传发动，设置相应奖项，激励学生踊跃参赛，确保初赛人数不低于一、二年级总人数的5%，并按学校要求在复赛和决赛阶段认真组织学生观摩。

The commenting ones, however, usually work less, and even if they want to work sometimes, they simply are not capable enough. They are no better than anyone, but show admiration to nobody either. They blame either the heaven, or the earth, but never themselves. They dare not to take any risks, but they are also afraid of any hard work. Capable and wealthy people are always the focus of the society.
Capable people are usually marching ahead of others and may not be properly understood, hence causing various kinds of comments, more criticism but less support;Capable people can easily succeed, thus causing both admiration and comments, more jealousy but less appreciation (only their good luck is recognized);Capable people can be sought for help and attract the attention of the society, thus causing a lot of comments, more complaints but less gratitude (even though they didn't ask anyone for help, if only they were not able to help others in a satisfactory way, it's already their fault);Capable people can also suffer setbacks (some even experience ups and downs many times)， experiencing fully the warmth and coldness of the human world, more hurts but less helps.
Wealthy people are non the easier. No doubt there are cruel-hearted rich men, but it is also wrong to think that no wealthy people are kind-hearted. They are capable of devising and managing and they often need to take risks to get the chance. But who care about these?

Football is a game in which 22 people chase one ball around a large field. The aim of the game is to get the ball into the net to score.

Football is a game of passes and techniques, passion and love, more importantly, unity is the key---the whole team working as one, united they will never be defeated.
The European’s style. of play is like a Waltz, the Brazilian like a Samba, and the passionate Argentineans play as if they are doing a Tango. Football is so unpredictable, so unbelievable. You will never know who will win until the last minute. Especially when suddenly there is a goal, the fans who have been sitting on the edge of their seats, will be wild with joy and excitement; and the losers with disappointed hearts will despair over their teams.
The other is of course the super stars. Each one has his own personality, just like my idol Ronaldo. When he smiles, we all smile with him. Who can forget that buck-toothed smile, or that unique hairstyle. during the 20xx World Cup. Ronaldo was born to a poor family. He has set an example to children who can’t afford a pair of shoes, but have talent and a passion for football. He gives them confidence and hope of a better future.

I received a devastating blow to my self-confidence in the first interview of my college years. I applied to be a host in our Student Acting Troupe and felt confident that I would be accepted. I used bigger heels to complement my height and psychological maneuvers and tricks to hide my lack of confidence. But no matter how hard I tried to look the part, there was still something missing.
As president of English Club, I organized the rehearsal of Snow White for an English party. Unfortunately, we could not find an actor to be the last dwarf. It had to be someone who was humorous by nature and fluent in English. Suddenly, all eyes turned to me, and I knew I would have to be the dwarf. To my great surprise and delight, once on stage, I was totally absorbed in the performance and my humorous nature was put to full use. As the dwarf, I was a big hit.
Yes, each of us is only one among millions of others, but each of us is an individual and each of us is unique. Cultivating our individuality will transform our lives, making of them a kaleidoscope of new colors and textures.
A world deprived of diversity would be a bland and boring place. The real tragedy is not being short or shy or ugly, but having your identity lost in a world in which everyone is a clone of a model cool boy or a flawless charming girl.
Given a choice, I would rather be ugly than live in such a world. I'd rather be a genuine dwarf accompanying a Snow White than be a Snow White among nothing but Snow Whites. I would rather be myself. I would contribute my individual and unique colors to create a more diverse universe. Please, be yourself.
