A perfect present for Christmas
Hicksville is a beautiful, small village on the coast of New Zealand where all the town's people love comics and would prefer to spend all day reading. Fine, probably this only happens in the graphic novel 'Hicksville' by Dylan Horroks but it could be my perfect place to live.
Horrocks has become one of my favorite cartoonists because he loves comics as much as I do, and it is easy to sympathize with his characters. Recently, I also read Sam Zabel and the Magic Pen. It’s amazing. Horrocks can draw using very different styles and is able to draw them all very well. It’s like a great banquet for all the comic book lovers.
In addition it's interesting how Horrocks deals with the women's roles in the world of comics, although he is ambivalent about this stuff. Actually these comics would be a perfect present for Christmas for everybody who likes comics or graphic novels considering that the books are very stimulating because they raise many questions.

Christmas is one of the most important celebrations of the year for the western countries. It falls on the twenty― fifth of December and has the same importance as Chinese New Year to people with English backgrounds.
