The Chinatown is located in Manhattan in New York. This is one of the most crowded places in the country and a good number of people visit there. This is mostly a neighbourhood in Manhattan and surrounded by some other residential and commercial areas. This is also the home of Chinese people living in New York. It appears as a nice candidate task card for me. I will talk about this place in a brief.

I visited this place a couple of months ago. I went there to meet one of my Chinese mates and greet her on her birthday. She studies marketing with us at the university. It was difficult for me to seek out the location at the beginning. The entire area was crowded with lots of people and the majority of them were Chinese. They were speaking in their own language while some of them were speaking English as well. The shops and the sellers were interesting.

I went there with Jim, Silvia, Blake, David, and Rocky. In fact, we were invited to the birthday party of our Chinese friend Chunhua. She invited us to attend the party and after her demands, we went there. It was a trouble to find out the location. All the places appeared similar to us and getting the right holding was extremely difficult for us. But finally, we reached Chunhua’s place. It was a nice evening.

The feelings were mixed. In fact, it was the very first visit to any Chinese home. So, I could not think what to do or how to respond. Besides, travelling to the crowded place was another exciting event. I have not seen such a crowd before. People were everywhere and all of them were Chinese. At first, I was a bit anxious but gradually everything turned normal.

My recent visit to the San Diego zoo provided me with an interesting experience. It was a noisy place that I have not been to before. The surrounding places inside the zoo were filled with noise both from the animals and people who came to visit them. Thank you for the nice cue card and hope the description will not make you feel bored as I was during my visit.

I did not have the experience to visit a zoo. So, I went to visit the San Diego zoo with some of my college friends. The experience was outstanding. But the noise around me was intolerable. I did not have the idea that the animals could make so noise. In fact, I could not enjoy the visit there only for it being a noisy place.

I went to the zoo to see animals that I have watched only on books and movies. Actually, my parents did not allow me to move outside of the home without any important reasons. And visiting in places and meeting with friends was wasting time – they believed. But when I grew up and started studying college, they became more friendly to me and allowed all the things that they did not permit before. So, the real-life knowledge for me is limited, and I started to gain some knowledge. As part of earning knowledge, I went to the San Diego Zoo and came to know about various types of animals.

The zoo was noisy for some certain reasons. First of all, this is the place where the wild animals live and they create noise. I think they try to communicate with each other and thus create the sounds. Hence, such noises are natural from the zoo animals. Besides, when the visitors come to the zoo, they also create noises. They shout and talk, and laugh seeing the animals before them. In fact, this is the natural expression of wonder for the visitors. But since there are no restrictions about sound, they create noise after their sweet wills. So, all the sounds inside the zoo create a noisy environment.

Initially, it was a nice experience to me to be at the zoo. But after passing some moments inside there, I felt uncomfortable. I could not enjoy the trip to the zoo for the noise. It appeared that the visitors are making more noise than the animals inside. There should be a limit about noise which should be followed strictly. The animals will make noise which is natural but the noise from the visitors is completely undesired. Though I could not bear with the knowledge, I made the trip complete inside the zoo as it was my very first visit. I think the authority should take steps to prevent such a noisy situation in this zoo.

I enjoy every minute of it,或者说It suits me。

I'm deeply/strongly concerned about _______这个句型来谈某个问题,表示出你对此的担忧。

Busted! These Are the 14 Biggest Myths About Black Friday

Every year, savvy shoppers find deep discounts online and in stores on Black Friday. Whether they're looking for the newest, most advanced tech device or the perfect outfit for New Year's Eve, buyers know retailers will offer some of their best deals during this time.

But are all the deals great? Do you have to shop online to find them? And do Black Friday sales even have to begin on Black Friday? We've addressed these questions, and quite a few more, in our list of the biggest myths about Black Friday. Brush up onsome shopping knowledge now, so you're well prepared for the upcoming deal season!

Contrary to popular myth, women are not worse drivers than men. 查下字典就知道,原来brush up on sth & brush sth up 的意思是to quickly improve a skill, especially when you have not used it for a time。比如I must brush up on my Spanish before I go to Seville.

2. You're Missing Out if You Only Shop Online

Companies advertise doorbusters in order to attract customers to their brick-and-mortarstores. But in recent years, as competition has escalated among rival retailers, thoseeye-catching deals have steadily moved online as well.

The reason is simple. Traditional retailers like Walmart, Target, and Best Buy know that online retailers like Amazon will match their best prices on in-store deals. Thus it only makes sense to offer the same deals online, to remain competitive. The goal is to beat Amazon, but the real winners are deal-hunters.

4. All Black Friday Deals Are Amazing

This is shopping 101. Remember, retailers are in business to make a buck, and they can't do that if they lose money — or even make too small a profit — on every deal.

Some deals are great, but others are filler. The great ones are there to lure you into buying more stuff, ideally at a healthy markup. So do your research and uncover the truth about those “rock bottom” prices before you buy.

6. Apple's Black Friday Sale is a Must-Shop Event for Apple Fans

Apple Stores across the country will be packed on Black Friday, but they won't be offering great deals. Last year, the tech giant offered gift cards with its full-price devices, which was pretty disappointing for shoppers hoping for a discount. If you want a real deal, you'd be better off checking out what third-party retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, and MacMall can do.

7. You Have to Stay Glued to Your Computer All Day to Get Deals

Sure, Black Friday can be stressful. With deals popping up throughout the day, you might feel like you have to keep your eyes on the computer monitor.

But that's simply not the case. DealNews has you covered. Before you spend 24 hours staring at a pixelated screen, set up an alert with us to receive notifications when your favorite deals are posted.

10. Luxury Goods Don't Go on Sale for Black Friday

It's true that Black Friday emphasizes lower-end electronics, however, in recent years, several luxury retailers have begun offering sales and promotions through their outlets. Stores like Last Call by Neiman Marcus, Barney's Warehouse, and Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH are a few outlets you can expect to participate in Black Friday sales. Plus, even Apple products go on sale now!

12. Doorbusters Are Always Crappy Quality

Bargain bin devices have a reputation for being bottom-of-the-barrel items that nobody wants, and you have to be careful for retailers trying to pass off questionable devices as “special edition.” But over the past few years, the doorbuster selections have been showing more flair than usual to entice customers. For example, we've seen rock-bottom prices on laptops with better-than-average specs, as well as eye-popping TV deals from brands you've actually heard of before.

Do you like watch films

拿这个题目举个例子:1、喜不喜欢看电影可以有三种问法:a.What kind of films do you like to watch? (Why?) b.Is there any kind of film that you don't like to watch? (Why?)c.Do you like to watch films?

Hello everyone,I’m Evy,your friend, today i am going to share three questions and sample answers about “film”,and I hope they are useful when you are taking the oral test of IELTS.

Question1:What kind of films do you like to watch? (Why?)

Answer1:I like all types of horrors from Hollywood to Bollywood! The more blood and gutsthe better! My favorite horror movie is “Saw ” and every time I watch it I feel kind of weird andspooked afterwards, but I'll watch it again anyway.

Question2:Is there any kind of film that you don't like to watch? (Why?)

Answer2:Horror films creep me out. I watched “The Shining” when I was a little kid and itscared the hell out of me and I have not been able to watch horror since. I can do thrillers, just not horror.

Question3:Do you like to watch films?

Answer3:Yes.Probably for the same reason I like to read or watch TV: to experience others’ lives, adventures and emotions vicariously without having to experience those things in reality, such as something painful like a tragedy or a horror, or because it's not plausible in your own life, like fantasy/adventure movies.

Ok that's all,So much for today, hope to see you next time, bye!

注解:Bollywood [bɑ:liw?d]n.

Guts [g?ts]n.内脏

Saw [s?]《

Vicariously [v?'ke?r?rsl?]adv.

Plausible [?pl?z?b?l]adj.

You should say

Where it was

When you went there

What you did there

And explain why you went there / how you felt about the crowded place.

ok, well the first place that came to mind when I saw this topic was the Beijing Metro, because I remember it being unbelievably crowded, so that’s what I’m gonna talk to you about.

And as for when I went there, well it was actually pretty recently, I suppose probably only about two or three weeks ago, so it’s still pretty fresh in my memory.

And regarding what I was doing there, well basically, I was on my way to see a friend who lives in Beijing, and she had told me that by far the best way to get around the city was using the subway, simply because the roads were so congested. So I took her advice, but it was a huge shock when I actually got into the subway station and saw just how many people there were. I mean, I knew that there would be a lot of people, but I never expected to see that many!

Although looking back on it now, I suppose what made it worse was the fact that I was travelling during rush hour, so it was a lot more crowded than I’m sure it would have been during off-peak times. And when I saw how packed the train was when it was pulling into the station, I remember thinking there was no way I was going to be able to get on. But I was in a bit of a hurry, coz I was actually already running late, so I had no choice really but to join the huge queue of people waiting. Anyway, I did somehow manage to make it onto the train, but I was pressed up against people on all sides, so it was pretty uncomfortable to say the least! I mean, it was absolutely heaving, and I literally couldn’t move at all!

Thankfully though, I didn’t have too far to travel, coz if I remember correctly, I was only on the train for about 4 stops. And when I finally got off, I remember feeling incredibly relieved, and also very grateful that I didn’t have to go through the same experience every day.

So yeah, I guess that’s pretty much all there is to say!

Crowded places

1. How do you feel when you are in crowded places?

Actually, there will be two kinds of feelings in my heart. Specifically, if I am in a place full of people. The first is excitement because when people are gathering, there must be something fascinating happened. Another is the feeling of nervous since crowed places are sometimes hazardous so I have got to be cautious.

2. When was the last time you were in a crowded place?

Well, I went to a concert where there were thousands of people last weekend . Although the concert was quite thrilling, when it was over and all the people were passing that tiny gate to get out, I felt a bit anxious because I was so afraid of falling down and being hurt by so many people. 3.What places do you think are often crowded?

I suppose in China, most of the public places are packed with people especially some entertaining sites like cinemas, shopping malls and sports stadiums. Generally, I reckon that some well-known tourist spots are often full of visitors like the Colosseum in Rome and the Fuji mountain in Japan. Their fame attracts millions of travelers to take a look.

When did you start to use social networking sites?

Let me see. Um, it was probably six or seven years ago, when I was in high school. Back then, we had a popular networking site among students, called Renren, which was sort of like the Chinese equivalent of Facebook. However, it wasn’t managed well, so I started to use wechat a couple of years ago. It's a real game-changer. Everyone has shifted to Wechat and its friends circle, I mean, everyone, literally.

还有要强调的内容,比如it's a real game-changer; I mean, everyone, literally 等,我们的语速同样要放慢,因为这是我们情绪和感受的体现。

I went to Starbucks/ and ordered an Americano,/which is my Dad's favorite,/ as well as mine.

An article you read online or from magazines about healthy living,或者An activity you do to keep fit的时候,自己又变成了健身狂人~ 这种难道不是前后矛盾么?

Describe an important invention (before the age of computers) that has influenced human society._

_ou should say:

what the invention is

when and where it was invented

how it is used

and explain how this invention has influenced society. _

What the invention is

The phone booth. After the great invention of telephone by Bell, another American inventor Greg William invented the coin public telephone in 1889.

When and where it was invented

Inventor William Gray invented the phone booth after realizing the difficulty of placing a phone call from outside the home.

How it is used

A telephone booth is a small structure furnished with a payphone and designed for a telephone user's convenience. The user of the booth pays for the call by depositing coins into a slot on the telephone or by using a telephone card.

and explain how this invention has influenced society.

More than a century has passed and now the telephone booth is seen almost everywhere. It has even become the art in some condition. However, with the rapid growth of the Internet the use of mobile telephone, the traditional telephone booth will probably fade out. And nowadays more and more cities are building the high-tech telephone booth that serves both as an ordinary phone and an information centre. Maybe we will only see the old ones in the museum show in the near future.

Part 3 Electrical Appliances

1. What kinds of electrical appliances are most used in the home besides the telephone and computer?

I would have to say washing machine, vacuum cleaner, rice cooker, coffee maker, electric kettle, air conditioner, etc. Those would be the ones I couldn't live without or I mean wouldn't want to do without.

2. What are some advantages and disadvantages of using electrical equipment?

Firstly, it saves our time but, one the other hand, people will become totally dependent on equipment and not to do things they could do themselves. Lastly, people could get electrocuted if using them carelessly, which happens every year.

3. Do you think we can now live without electrical appliances?

Well, it’s hard to say. Electricity has truly become the lifeblood of our society. Right now we can’t live without electrical devices because we rely on them to make our life easier. Many of us have become addicted to what can be done with indoor plumbing, the Internet and cell phones. Actually, It is difficult but not impossible.

Modern Technology & Human Progress

1. What changes have taken place in society as a result of the use of modern technology such as the television and the computer?

No doubt to say that modern technology has made our life easier and convenient. Invention of the tools like stapler, Hoover and ATM is the milestone of technology as well as human being's progress. Take the Internet for instance; people can communicate with friends all over the world now. Only by clicking, you will gain what you expect.

2. Do you think people rely too much on machines and modern technology nowadays?

Yes most people do. Most people like looking for the easy way to get certain things done like: cooking with microwave, weeding with lawn mower and so on. I think maybe we rely on conveniences too much that we should actually get away from it all and back to nature.

3. How do you think modern technology will change the way people work in the future?

It has already changed the way people work in every field and it will continue. For instance, my mom studied to be a graphic designer when she was in college. She did everything by hand 20 years ago. Now, her field grew with the use of Internet and new technology as she’s drawing by computer, bidding work online, and submitting work online. In the future, more work can be done automatically, and all we need to do is just to press the button or to check the jobs if they are ready for collection.

1. Do you like going to parks and/or public gardens?

(If yes:)

Yeah, on the whole I do, as long as the weather’s nice of course! You know, I think they’re nice places to go to get some fresh air and enjoy the natural environment. And I always tend to feel a bit less stressed out when I’m in a garden or park.

(If no:)

No I don’t, because I kind of think there’s not really that much to do in parks. I mean, most of the ones near to where I live have nothing! You know, all you can really do is just wander around, and after you’ve been to them so many times, they kind of get a bit boring, if you know what I mean!

2. When was the last time you went to a park?

Um… let me see…when was the last time?... I suppose it must have been about … it must have been about two or three months ago, a bit before Christmas, cos I remember that day the sky was really clear for a change! And so I thought it would be nice to go out for a walk somewhere, which I did.

3. Do you think the parks and gardens where you live could be improved in any ways?

Yeah I do. I think they could be improved quite a bit. Cos as I mentioned just now, there’s not really that much you can do there, so I think some facilities could be added. For example, it would be nice if there was a café or something where you could sit and enjoy the surroundings with a cup of coffee. And uh.. what else?... Oh yeah, another thing that I think’s lacking is children’s play areas, you know, like climbing frames, swings and slides, because I’ve noticed that most parks have exercise equipment for adults, but nothing really for children. So this is another aspect in which I think parks could really improve on.

4. Would you like to see more parks and gardens in your hometown?

Yeah I would, because we only have a very small number at the moment, and considering there are several million people living here, I think it would definitely be good to have a few more!

5. Do you prefer to relax with your friends in a park or an indoor place?

I’d say I generally prefer to relax with my friends somewhere indoors, because I mean, if I’m meeting up with them in a park, then everything could be ruined by the weather. So it’s a bit easier arranging to meet somewhere indoors. Having said that though, if it’s a really nice day out, then I suppose I would prefer to be outside with them somewhere, like a park.

1. Do you like making things by hand?

(If yes:)

Yeah I do. I find it quite fun making stuff by hand. You know, it kind of brings a certain amount of satisfaction once you’ve finished it, and you think “Wow! I made that!” So yeah, I enjoy making things quite a lot.

(if no:)

No, not particularly, because I’ve actually always found it to be a pretty frustrating experience. You know, something invariably goes wrong whenever I try to make something, so now I can never usually be bothered.

2. Do you like collecting things made by hand?

No, I can’t say I do. I mean, I’ve never really made the effort to collect anything made by hand. So it’s not that I dislike it, it’s just never been something that I’ve had the urge to do really!

3. Did you ever take handicraft lessons at school?

No, I never did, which I suppose is a bit of a pity, cos I imagine they would have been quite fun. But my classes were unfortunately limited to just the typical subjects that most schools offer, like Maths, Physics, Geography, those kinds of things.

4. Are handicrafts popular in China?

Yeah, I’d say they are, because we have certain handicrafts which are….um… how can I put it,…which are closely tied with our culture, such as paper cutting, which goes back hundreds of years in China, if not thousands. But I suppose it’s also fair to say that handicrafts have become a bit less popular in modern times, simply because of all the technology that’s crept into our lives!

5. Do you think children should learn more about handicrafts?

Yeah I’d say they definitely should, because first of all it’s fun, and children tend to learn more when they’re having fun. And I think it would also make them appreciate things more. You know, when you realize all the effort that goes into making something, you kind of appreciate it more. So yeah, I think it’s very beneficial for children to learn more about handicrafts.
